Digital Government Week: Digital Government for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals
The Digital Government week will be held in Colombia, Bogota from 25 to 27 October 2017 and aims to gather international experts working on digital public innovation. As part of the week, the INDIGO Awards for Digital Public Innovation will be held to highlight global innovations in digital government implementation. The theme for the event will be ‘Digital Government for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals’. For more information contact mpilonieta@mintic.gov.co.

The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Government of Germany agreed on January 26, in Berlin through a convention signed by both parties that the new joint cooperation programme for the period 2016-2018 will be dedicated to support the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development in the region.

Recapping this Year through the Lens of ECLAC
The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) published in 2015 diverse studies regarding the economic, social and environmental situation in the region, including six flagship annual reports that provided statistical information, timely analysis and short- and medium-term outlooks on issues as varied as the expansion of Gross Domestic Product (GDP), the behavior of foreign investment and international trade, and the evolution of poverty and inequality.

Latin American and Caribbean Growth Projection for 2015 and 2016
Latin American and Caribbean economies will contract -0.4% on average in 2015 and will grow just 0.2% next year, affected by a complex external scenario, according to new projections unveiled today by Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC).

The Latin American Economic Outlook 2016 Launched
Latin America’s GDP growth slowdown deepened and is expected to be negative in 2015. For a second consecutive year, Latin America falls behind the average growth of OECD countries after a full decade of convergence with advanced economies, according to the Latin American Economic Outlook 2016.

Este escrito se presenta como uno de los primeros documentos técnicos que fundamenta la creación de la Estrategia, realizando una identificación de actores, proyectos y avances en materia de gestión pública local, dando como resultado un amplio documento en forma de "mapa" del estado de la cuestión en Centroamérica de los gobiernos locales.

New Urban Policy for New India

Plan Underway to Develop First Smart City in Sri Lanka
Polonnaruwa district in Sri Lanka has been selected to be developed as the country’s first “Smart City”, a Sri Lankan official has said. Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) Chairman Kumarasinghe Sirisena said that several projects have been launched to upgrade education, health and transportation in Polonnaruwa.
