Oman will be spending OMR 450 million over the next ten years to improve telecommunication services in all governorates, the Times of Oman reported. The CEO of the Information Technology Authority (ITA), Salim Sultan Al Ruzaiqi, said at the seventh three-day FTTH (fibre-to-the-home) Council Mena Conference, that Oman's digital strategy focuses on the development of social information, e-government, economy and infrastructure as well as the continuity of the developments. He said that according to the UN e-government survey for 2014, Oman improved in the global ranking and stands at the 48th place in terms of e-readiness.
