The government and the ruling Saenuri Party held a meeting Friday and agreed to resume suspended efforts for reforming the nation's health insurance premium payment scale.
 
The two sides will form a consultative group and come up with an improved system as early as in the first half of this year by improving the reform plan which was prepared before the government's previous decision to stop the endeavor.
 
Before the meeting began Friday, Saenuri Party floor leader Yoo Seung-min told reporters that he aims to improve the system to benefit low-income earners within the boundaries of protecting the current fiscal conditions.
