Source: worldbank.org
Source Date: Monday, September 16, 2013
Focus: ICT for MDGs
Created: Sep 18, 2013

In February 2013, the Global Partnership for Social Accountability (GPSA) launched its first Call for Proposals on Social Accountability for Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) in 12 countries to win grants ranging from US$ 500,000 - US$ 1,000,000.

The Global Partnership for Social Accountability (GPSA) is a coalition of donors, governments and CSOs that aims to improve development results by supporting capacity building for enhanced citizen feedback and participation. To achieve this objective, the GPSA provides strategic and sustained support to CSOs’ social accountability initiatives aimed at strengthening transparency and accountability.

Applications from Tunisia

A total of 216 CSOs from the 12 participating countries responded to the first Call for Proposals, out of which 14 applications were received from Tunisia. The GPSA Steering Committee (SC) selected Albawsala’s proposal: “Building Citizens’ Capacities and State Responsiveness for an Open and Transparent Democracy in Tunisia” for $600,000 in funding under the GPSA grant program.

Please review the proposal and register and post your comments from September 16-20, 2013. The GPSA takes all comments received into consideration before giving the final approval of the project. The period for posting comments will end on September 20, 2013.

General information on the proposal, comments received from the Government, instructions guiding public comments and a space to leave comments are available at the link above.
