ISLAMABAD: Economist Dr. Asim Ullah Bakhsh has said that Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved 10 projects which also reflect government's intentions to make Pakistan a prosperous country.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he said that ECNEC has approved Rs 96 billion projects relating to energy sector.
He said that is an important committee which deals with the developmental projects in the countries.
He added that Pakistan's economy was facing major two problems including energy crisis and terrorism adding shortage of energy has negative impact on the economic growth of the country and war against terrorism has greatly affected its economy.
He elaborated there are lot of problems and government cannot solve all problems in a day but it sure is taking steps to overcome these problems.
He said that trade and development is must for the stability of the region adding that the committee should do a lot in order to achieve its goals.
He termed Pakistan's role is significant in economic activities of the reigon because It offered transit routes for Central Asian states.
