The government will announce as early as late September how many public sector jobs it will create over the next five years through state job creation programs.
The government plans to establish an objective guideline on calculating the number of newly created jobs and present a pan-government target for each program.
Finance and labor ministries say the government is examining forecasts of each ministry’s job creation projects. The forecasts are part of the government’s plan to create two-point-38 million jobs from 2013 and 2017 with a goal of 70 percent employment.
The government's employment projections have been criticized for lacking credibility and unified standards as each ministry applies its own standards and one ministry’s data overlap those of other ministries.
