The government has developed an integrated election security plan in order to hold the elections to the Constituent Assembly in a peaceful manner, state-owned news agency RSS reports.
The plan developed at the initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs is in the last phase of preparation for enforcement.
The draft of integrated election security plan has been developed in consideration of the November 19 CA elections and is presently in the last phase of finalization, Home Ministry Spokesperson Shanker Prasad Koirala told RSS.
Speaking at a press conference held at the Ministry Thursday, spokesperson Koirala said direction has been issued to all concerned authorities as per the election security plan guidelines, 2070 B.S.
‘Election security related works are underway by setting up central election unit at the Home Ministry while separate units have also been put in place in all security agency and district level’, he said while sharing information about the efforts being made to maintain law and uorder in view of election.
According to the information shared at the press conference, the standard on arms compensation-2070 has come into effect after getting approval and altogether 6,745 arms have been so far collected from various outfits groups and the general public.
The government in a public notice urged all concerned to surrender such weapons.
