Indonesia and South Korea have agreed to develop e-government on a mutually beneficial and non-interference basis.
Indonesian Communication and Information Minister Tifatul Sembiring and South Korean Security and Public Administration Minister Yoo Jeong Bok signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on e-government cooperation in the presence of Vice President Boediono here earlier this month, the Chief of the Information Center and Public Relations Service at the Indonesian Ministry of Communications and Information, Gatot S. Dewa Broto said.
The cooperation is aimed at expanding and strengthening friendship between the two countries as well as at enhancing e-government cooperation, Gatot S. Dewa Broto explained. The countries also agreed to exchange e-government information technology as well as information on system and service needed for e-government.
The MoU also covers the exchange of experience in the application of e-government, and the exchange of personnel including experts to strengthen the capacity of human resources in the e-government field.
"We also have agreed to conduct joint researches and studies in the e-government field, and exchange knowledge related to e-government trend, the best practice and experience in e-government, and information on the use of e-government instruments and applications," Gatot S. Dewa Broto said.
Both countries also expected to work closely to reduce the side effect of e-government.
