The State Government of Victoria has launched an online portal to give businesses and citizens easy access to all government grants available in the state.

The portal, Grants Victoria, provides a central source of information on all government grants, allowing users to browse a comprehensive catalogue or search using keywords or categories like health or education. The portal currently offers information on more than 130 grants.

“Grants Victoria is easy to use and navigate and visual indicators clearly show if a grants program is open or closed”, stated Louise Asher, Minister for Innovation, Services and Small Business. She added that the launch of the portal fulfils a promise made by the government to create a one-stop-shop for information on grants and support programmes.

“Previously, Victorians have had to look for grants on a range of websites maintained by different government departments and entities, making them difficult to access”, said Asher. “The new portal not only contains a full, aggregated list of grants, and information about their status, but also allows grants to be searched for by using keywords.”

Grants recently added to the portal include The Victoria/India Co-production initiative, offered by Film Victoria to encourage partnerships between Indian and Victorian film and television industries, and the Business Development Plan Mentoring programme, which will assist businesses with the implementation of a strategic business plan.
