Kazakh Economic Development and Trade Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev met with UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative in Kazakhstan Stephen Tull.
Tull expressed gratitude for the Ministry's cooperation with the UNDP in the project "Strengthening of accountable public management to accelerate the achievements of the Millennium Development Goals in Kazakhstan", launched in 2011. The purpose of the project is to support the initiatives of the government of Kazakhstan to strengthen public accountability, increase the effectiveness of government and create conditions for the participation of civil society in the evaluation of public bodies.
During the meeting they discussed the planned joint projects related to improved delivery and assessment of the quality of public services and other areas of cooperation in the framework of the UNDP and UN agencies in general.
