Azerbaijan: Volume of e-Trades with Foreign Currency Decreases by 14 Percent

The total volume of trades of currency section at Baku Interbank Currency Exchange (BBVB) in July on USD/AZN has made 68.583 million manat or $87.336 million, BBVB said on Friday.

"In comparison with indicators of June in accounting month the total volume of trades in currency section has increased on 11.084 million manat or 14 percent," the statement said.

In total, 10 banks have taken part in the trades of currency section of the BBVB in July 2012. In accounting month in "Bourse E-System of Trades" (BEST) 44 trading sessions are conducted and 37 transactions are registered.

The average daily turnover in "Bourse E-System of Trades" on USD/AZN reached approximately $3.97 million, then that the average volume of each transaction has made $2.36 million.

It is necessary to note, that exchange rate of national currency on tool USD/AZN_TOD in accounting month has increased on 0,03 percent from 0.7850 to 0.7848 for $1. Thus the US dollar average rate in consideration to manat has made in July, 2012 - 0.7853 AZN for $1, against 0.7854 AZN following the June.
