Minister for Information and Communications Raj Kishor Yadav has refuted media reports that claimed that the current Bhattarai-led government is going to be replaced by national unity government by Thursday, adding that there has only been an agreement to reshuffle the current government.
Emerging from the meeting of ruling coalition partners - UCPN (Maoist) and United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) - held at Singha Durbar on Thursday, Minister Yadav said reports that claimed (quoting senior leaders) that the current Cabinet will be dissolved to form new national unity government under Bhattarai's leadership was erroneous and no such agreement was reached during Wednesday's late night meeting between the three major political parties and UDMF.
Instead there was an agreement to reshuffle the current Bhattarai-led cabinet to make way for inclusion of opposition NC and UML in the present ruling coalition and turn it into a national consensus government, he said.
Minister Yadav said that during the meeting Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal also expressed surprise over media reports that claimed that parties have reached a verbal agreement to form a NC-led government for promulgation of the new constitution within the May 27 deadline.
"Maoist chairman Dahal believes that such erroneous reports are a conspiracy to derail the recent achievements in peace process," Minister Yadav said. nepalnews.com
