Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov has dismissed Khangeldy Serdarov as the deputy chairman of the country's Supreme Court due to the expiration of his term of office, an official Turkmen source said.
As the Turkmen government said, Turkmen leader held a meeting of the State Security Council a few days ago, during which he touched upon improving the judicial system.
"Speaking about the huge responsibility entrusted to the judges, the President instructed to further pay special attention to the important issue like the selection of competent, highly qualified staff," the report says.
As Berdimuhammadov stressed, only honest, thoroughly educated people, who are committed to the rule of law, should work in this authority, which is "directly responsible for ensuring observance of the rule of law in the country".
