Colonel Ibrahim Bekiev released from the post of Deputy Chief of the State border service of Turkmenistan - Chief of General Staff "for serious shortcomings in the work," the official Turkmen source reported. A decree was signed by the President, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov recently commissioned at the Prosecutor's Office to conduct a thorough investigation and bring to justice those involved in trafficking in the country illicit drugs. In a government report said that "security agencies recorded a case of cooperation from the military frontier troops across the border trafficking of potent drugs that are prohibited on the territory of our country." In connection with this incident Berdymukhamedov said that "Turkmenistan has always led, and will continue to wage an irreconcilable struggle against the illegal distribution of drugs and narcotics, as the fight against this negative phenomenon, and with conniving persons, no matter what positions they occupied".In this context, the head of the country also emphasized "the inadmissibility of such cases," and demanded that the leaders of the military and security agencies to take all appropriate measures.
