A Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Kim Hwang-sik on Tuesday approved a partial revision to ordinances on the Elementary and Middle School Education Act.
The government will allow schools to have an additional teacher to supervise the classes that have a large number of students in a bid to better deal with school violence.
The Cabinet approved another revision on school violence prevention that calls for the transfer of the offending students to schools that are distanced from their previous school in a bid to prevent the offenders from threatening or exacting revenge on the victims.
Other revised bills were aimed at sexual predators who prey on minors, providing informants as much as one million won in award money to those who report sexual trafficking of children and teens.
