Seoul City plans to establish an environmental information system using a geographic information system by the end of the year for a systematic management of groundwater and soil contaminants.
The city said on Tuesday it will spend 240 million won to establish an electronic map, which will show a grid of major and potential contaminants as well as management records of facilities for soil and for groundwater.
The city also plans to manage together test results of groundwater and soil as groundwater pollutants, such as gas stations, can also be soil pollutants.
