Vietnam National Institute of Software and Digital Content Industry will implement “Sensor System for Monitoring and Warning for Natural Disasters” together with Panasonic System Networks Co Ltd, and Da Nang Department of Information and Communications.
“The project will be implemented from 2012 and is expected to be finished by 2015, with a total budget of US$50 million”, said Pham Kim Son, Director General, Da Nang Department of Information and Communications. The Department is working closely with the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), Japan to test the pilot within one year after its inception in January 2012.
“We pilot within a year of the first quarter of 2012 in cooperation with Japan government. All the equipment in the project costing billions of Vietnam Dong will be sponsored by Panasonic,” Son added.
The system will use a sensor system and a wireless mesh network in combination with the iDragon Cloud solution for environmental observation and early warning of natural disasters.
The iDragon Cloud will be implemented for managing and accessing data on the cloud computing platform and will provide a totally new software platform for accessing the Cloud.
Son said this would be a good opportunity for Da Nang city to improve its infrastructure and the local living environment.
