Studies have shown that 35 per cent of government services in Malaysia were conducted via the internet, Prime Minister Najib Razak revealed.
Najib made the comment at the seminar on the e-government project for National Key Economic Areas (NKEA) held in Kuantan, capital of the state of Pahang. At the seminar, he promoted the government blueprint to improve civil servants’ competency and service quality through information technology.
He added that the government’s goal is to push that up to 90 per cent by 2020. In addition, the government also plans to digitise 70 per cent of its documents, including couriers, invitation cards and meeting notes.
