The Ministry of Knowledge Economy has vowed to support small and mid-sized businesses in boosting their exports to reach a trade volume of $2 trillion by 2020.
It announced on Sunday that it will increase the number of small-and-medium exporters to 100,000 from the current 80,000. The ministry also plans to expand project funding for those exporters by up to W50 trillion (US$1=W1,118) each.
Korea's trade volume hit $1 trillion last December, making it the ninth country to reach the milestone.
