More than sixty senior officials of Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry (MAF) are training on public administration to upgrade knowledge and capacity to ensure the materialisation of resolution of Ninth Party Congress into practice.
A three-day training course opened at the Department of Forestry on 21 June under chairmanship of Agriculture and Forestry Minister, Mr. Sitaheng Rasphon.
Mr. Sitaheng said that the training course on public administration for executive officials planned to organise one more events in early August and expected that over 200 officials will be trained.
This is the third training course, which the first and second events held on 7-9 and 14-16 June 2010.
He continued that the MAF was responsible for helping the government to develop and administrate the relevant sectors under the law and to implement 14 main works based on their roles from central to local sectors.
So far, the materialization of Party’s policy, regulation, programme and action plan, vocational skills in line with political affairs and main responsibility of each level administrator was unable to match to the current demand of political affairs, Mr Sitaheng continued.
Therefore, the leading committee of MAF saw it was a necessary to develop and strengthen for leading officials and administrators in the ministry.
A three-day training course, the participants are learning the civil servants administration, the achievements of over the past five and next five years on agriculture and forestry development plan, the linking of agriculture and forestry into international and regional development and projects management, public administration, strategy on developing of public administration, leadership management, office administration and documentary circulation service, strategy on agriculture development till 2020 and master plan of agriculture for 2011-2015, and administration and building of rule of law.
They are also studying strategy on rural agriculture development and integrated agriculture and forestry development of Lao PDR with region.
