Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) recently received RM236.6 million in allocation for the Azam Niaga and Azam Khidmat initiatives which are under the GTP’s NKRA to improve the living standards of low-income households (LIH).
Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said participants of the projects would be eligible for loans ranging from RM3,000 to RM75,000 through AIM to start up their businesses.
“The allocation channeled through AIM will be available for the poor and extreme poor who are interested to participate in these two projects,” she said before handing over a cheque to AIM chairman Datuk Amihamzah Ahmad on December 17.
Shahrizat said borrowers could repay the loan on a monthly basis according to their capability.
Azam Niaga and Azam Khidmat are two of the four projects implemented under the 1AZAM initiative to raise the standard of living for the poor and extreme poor.
