Fiji says it soon expects to be endorsed as a member of the Non-Aligned Movement.
Minister for Foreign Affairs Ratu Inoke Kubuabola told the Fiji Sun the quest to become a member has been accepted by the Ministerial Chair of the movement.
The movement is an intergovernmental organisation of states considering themselves not aligned formally with or against any major power bloc.
It is comprised of developing countries, and aims to represent the political, economic and cultural interests of the developing world.
Fiji will be formally welcomed as the 119th member of the movement at the body's next conference in Indonesia in May.
