An MoU for e-Government Capacity Building Signed by IPA and YESSER

A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) and e-Government Program (YESSER) to implement an initiative for capacity building and skill development in government agencies all over KSA  in the area of e-Government. The IPA will contribute to the implementation of the initiative. 

Eng. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Shuaibi, manager of the Institute of Public Administration and Eng. Ali bin Saleh Al-Soma, YESSER’s Director General signed the memorandum.

The event was sponsored and attended by  Eng. Mohamed Jamil Mullah, minister of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) and Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al-Barrak, minister of Civil Service and in presence of Dr. Saleh bin Abdul Rahman Al-Shuhaib, vice minister of Civil Service.

Eng. Mohamed Jamil Mullah emphasized that the memorandum has come in the context of the strategic partnership between YESSER and the IPA.  It reflects the vision of Saudi Arabia prudent leadership that various sectors and agencies should join forces in order to accelerate the journey of sustainable development in Saudi Arabia, he said. e-Transformation is an important element in this process, added the minister. Eng. Mullah commended the role of the IPA as a pioneering professional training agency. 

Dr. Barrak, minister of Civil Service stressed the importance of training and developing skills in the government sector. He underscored the significance of e-Government and lauded the role of YESSER and the partnership between Yesser and Ministry of Civil Service.

On his part, dr. Shuaibi, Director General of the IPA, said the memorandum of understanding has come in consistence with the institute’s record of extensive achievements and experience in the areas of training and developing government resources. He said the Institute will  collaborate with Yesser to conduct e-Government training and ensure quality of training.

Eng. Ali Al-Soma, Director General of YESSER explained that such a memorandum has comes within the strategic partnership between YESSER and the IPA. YESSER seeks, through this partnership, to ensure capacity building and skill developing of resources in government agencies, said Yesser’s Director General.  He signaled the impact of training provided by the IPA and its contribution to transformation into e-government.
