United Arab Emirates: Dubai Municipality wins Arab e-Government Award

Dubai Municipality has won the Arab e-Government Award in the category of innovative design among the websites of municipalities. Eng. Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General, received the award for municipality during a ceremony which was held recently at Burj Al-Arab which was attended by a number of organizations and diplomats. While spoke after receiving the honour, Eng. Lootah, emphasized on the vigorous endeavours of the civic body in pursuit of winning awards for excellence and leadership in various areas. He said, "The Municipality believes in the importance of crowning its efforts and excellence as part of its drive to deliver the best in providing quality services to the community." Lootah added, "This victory is a crown on the civic body's advancement in the area of e-government." He also praised keenness and the support of the wise leadership of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai in efforts to better government services especially his recent call for transforming the e-government to smart governments. Dubai municipality also adjudged best in e-transactions category, of which the award was received by Eng. Mohammed Al- Noory, Director, Corporate Marketing & Relations department at the civic body.
