Under the chairmanship of HE Ali Masoud Al Sunaidi, Minister of Sports Affairs and Chairman of ITA and in the presence of ITA Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Salim Sultan Al Ruzaiqi, the Sultanate of Oman participated in the 7th ICT Ministerial Forum that was held in Singapore during the period from 20 to 22 June 2011.

As a keynote speaker in the Forum, Dr. Salim Al Ruzaiqi presented a working paper underscoring the Sultanate’s experience in offering eGovernment services. He shared with the audience the Oman's eGovernment journey and their plans for the future. He also highlighted some of the challenges faced in Oman and other Middle East countries, which eGovernment initiatives and programs addressed.

Under the motto “Collaborative Government in a Connected World”, the Forum witnessed the participation of the makers and initiators of eGovernment policies in the world as well as the world’s top speakers who discussed the ways governments dealt with eGovernment issues as well as government contributions in offering the best services needed by the citizens of such countries.

They also tackled the opportunities of establishing international cooperation in the field of eGovernment. Around 700 participants attended the Forum including  ICT Ministers at ASEAN, and the Middle East in addition to senior officials at the Public Sector, business leaders and experts working at international associations
