Angola: Technology Minister Addresses Lecture On Education and Science

The Minister of Science and Technology, Cândida Teixeira, will address on Friday in Luanda in a lecture on "The Importance of Education, Science and Use of New Technologies in the Angolan Context.

The event, to take place at Anibal de Melo Media Centre (CIAM), will also count on the lecture of the Zambian ambassador to Angola, Barbara Chilangwa.

A press note from CIAM, which reached Angop on Wednesday, explains that the activity is part of the 31 of July, African Women's Day.

Africa celebrating on 31 July the African Women's Day, which was declared by the African Union after the first Pan-African Women's Conference in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania, in 1962.

This important date honours the achievements of all African women, and offers a space to reflect on progress towards the recognition of women's rights and gender equality at the political, economic and social level in all the countries of Africa.
