Tanzania Telecommunications Company Limited (TTCL) has readjusted itself to offer high quality services and has advised entities in the public and private sectors to fully utilise the improved services.

TTCL Head of Sales Kisamba Tambwe told reporters in Dar es Salaam on Tuesday that the company was determined to offer quality services after the successful roll out of the national fibre optic cable.

"We have so far connected many corporate entities and institutions both from public and private sectors," he said, adding that TTCL has for the past three years increased capacity to serve its customers in areas of data, voice and internet.

Mr Tambwe said through the national fibre optical network, it was now possible for TTCL to connect and serve customers in and outside the country for improved services, "We have managed to respond to our customer's needs."

Already, several ministries as well as government agencies and departments have been connected through the National ICT Broadband Backbone (NICTBB) for fast and sustainable development through e-government.

The government, through the Ministry of Communications, Science and Technology, is constructing the national fibre optic cable network as a strategy to achieve the national ICT vision.

Some ministries, including that for Local Government and Regional Administration, have already been connected. The government has invested in the fibre optic to speed up service delivery to members of the public.

Several hospitals--Muhimbili National hospital and Amana in Dar es Salaam as well as Tumbi in coast Region--have been connected as well.

Apart from government institutions and hospitals, several banks have also been connected to strengthen financial services in the country. Mr Tambwe said the company has improved the after-sale services to customers to ensure quality.
