“The Global Summit of Women has been enabling women leaders to grow their businesses, expand their networks and enlarge their opportunities in their countries, regions and globally. This is therefore the reason why we want our South African business women and aspirant young women to be part of this event,” said Deputy Minister Thabethe.
According to Thabethe, the Global Summit continues to celebrate women’s leadership worldwide.
“Again, this year’s summit will see more than 1 000 women-leaders from every corner of the world sharing winning strategies to advance women’s economic lives and ensure global prosperity. This will constitute of businesswomen as well as professional and governmental women leaders,” she added.
Thabethe explained that the summit had succeeded in being the vehicle for the formation of international and regional networks, for successful business initiatives and for the sheer exchange of ideas and practices that have energised women participating in the global markets.
The summit will focus on the emergence of women as political and business leaders and its features will encompass pre-summit roundtable for women Government Ministers to dialogue with corporate leaders on best practices in public/private sector partnerships, for advancing women’s economic growth. Discussions will also centre around practical strategies for business growth, personal and entrepreneurial, that are developed in the different parts of the world.
Deputy Minister Thabethe further said that the programme will cover skills business sessions in Leadership Development, Entrepreneurial and Micro enterprise development presented by inspirational role models from every continent. Women will also have networking opportunities with their counterparts throughout the event.
