"The best advantages of all, is the knowledge of Public-Private Partnerships and certificate I will take home with me. I can confidently set up and implement PPP in my agency." According to him, the two weeks experience in Houston, TX was a life of its own and wished that more Africans could benefit from this career changing opportunity. Also expressing his experience, another participant, Mr. Omu Tjitka, commended the institute for offering two-week courses aimed at building the knowledge capacity of the public sector managers in addition to gaining continuing education hours associated with the course.
"As an accredited institute, EMPIN should admit more Africans into their programs, although a lot people in Africa do not know about EMPIN's services and products. I was lucky enough to hear about this institute from my colleague who is an alumnus of EMPIN. He directed me to their website www.empin.org and that's how I ended up here. I am extremely excited" he said. The Empowerment Plus Institute (EMPIN), established in 2003, is a leading training provider and advisor to governments, financial institutions and public service providers in the growing international infrastructure marketplace.
EMPIN assists public sector clients in building enabling environments for Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), prepare and tender PPP Projects, develop monitoring and enforcement capacity through effective infrastructure regulatory institutions commercialize or corporatize public service providers, and introduce good governance and accountability standards across these government services. Since its beginning, EMPIN has trained over 15,000 officials in the areas of finance, economics, law, policy, regulation, and management from such infrastructure sectors as energy, transportation, water, telecommunications, environmental management, and municipal services. Training delivery includes classroom courses offered in our Training Center in Houston, TX and client-driven onsite/customized courses.
Our training is highly rated, with over 99 per cent of our participants stating they would recommend EMPIN to a colleague. In 2003, in cooperation with the Texas Southern University College of Continuing Education, we introduced three intensive and ground-breaking professional certification programs in procurement, regulation, and utility management. In 2012, EMPIN introduced a Certified Managerial Excellence Specialist Certification Program to provide a core body of knowledge in the Managerial Field.
