Assistant Foreign Minister for Afro-Asian Affairs, Thomas Kaydor, has underscored the need for the establishment of a Science and Technology Ministry in Liberia for speedy growth of the country industrial area for young people who are now preparing themselves for the future challenges especially by taking interest in science courses at higher institutions of learning.According to the Assistant Afro-Asian Affairs Minister Kaydor, the country's future generation can only benefit from the resources only by giving their key attention to Science and Technology subject by learning more about how they can begin thinking on building industries that will help employ several young people.
The Assistant Foreign Minister made this assertion Monday June 25, 2012 at his Foreign Ministry office upon his arrival from the Republic of Pakistan following a six-week diplomatic training for over 15 diplomats from the various countries including Liberia, it was also intended to brighten the minds of diplomats on how they understand economical issues affecting the nations around the world. He also stressed that they as diplomats was given the opportunity to visit industrial areas especially places that people were building Air-Plans and modern Hyundai vehicles that was carry out by young people, something he said that such him.Minister Kaydor said there is also a need for the establishment of the Counsel General or Embassy near the Pakistani capital for perfect diplomatic relation that will brings some exchange program that will directly help the young people especially those who are in the science colleges, he also said that Pakistani are those involve with the development of their country.
He further called on the government of Liberia under the leadership of President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to invest in the Science and Technology area for the younger generation that will help to improve their daily lives."Although the current country budget are not enough to help the education needs, but the country should establish bilateral relations for speedy growth", he added.The Assistant Foreign Minister discloses that the Pakistani Chamber of Commerce has expressed interest in exporting more rice to Liberia but they want to deal with the country's own business not foreigners.He said if the bilateral relations are established, it will help Liberia to borrow Technology that will help the business economic grow faster.
