They welcomed the premier’s efforts in job creation, saying if government could offer them jobs, they would be able to support their families and there would be less poverty.
The Premier’s address seemed to have touched directly on the needs of both young and old.
Petrus Mosibudi, 71, an unemployed father of three from Botshabelo, said it was government’s responsibility to provide jobs and good healthcare. “It is important that government look after its people by providing good healthcare.”
Magdalene Rakgetsi, 24, completed matric four years ago and could not go to tertiary because of a lack of funds.
She told BuaNews that she still wanted to continue with her studies at tertiary level.
“If I could be offered a bursary, I would immediately go and register,” she said, adding that she would like to study for a Degree in Psychology.
The premier announced that 1 500 bursaries would be awarded by the provincial government this year in a bid to improve education.
