Nonofo Molefhi, Minister of Transport and Communications will be present at the august gathering, together with Thato Raphaka, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry. Also in attendance are Thari Pheko, CEO of BTA, Paul Taylor, CEO of BTC and Alan Boshwaen, CEO, Botswana Innovation Hub.

The speaker faculty includes high-level representatives from ICT implementing agencies in Ghana, Mauritius, Uganda and Kenya, the Cybercrime Convention Committee of the Council of Europe, the World Bank, World Health Organisation, the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and the Governance and Institutional Development division of the Commonwealth Secretariat.

Some of our thought-provoking discussions and debate this year centre on:
•    The role of ICTs in strengthening trust between parliament and the people
•    Effective governance with smarter e-Government strategies
•    Walking the tightrope: Security vs Privacy in e-Governance
•    ICTs and the Arab Spring: Implications for Democracy
•    How can local and central government content be made available for mGov?
•    How can ICTs deliver qualitative health services to rural Africa?
Industry has come out in strong support of the event with a number of major global players committed to attend the event.

The host, Botswana Telecommunications Corporation, will organise a gala reception at the Gaborone International Convention Centre and a farewell reception over a Bush Braai following a safari at Mokolodi Nature Reserve. ZTE will host another dinner for honoured guests, speakers and delegates at a nearby resort. RIM and Fujistu and the Botswana Innovation Hub will also provide hospitality to attendees.
