The top performing schools will receive science equipment for their laboratories.
The four top achievers for 2011 will be taken on an all-expenses-paid trip to attend the London International Youth Science Forum from 27 July to 10 August this year.
Past winners have commented that this is the opportunity of a lifetime and in many cases, it inspired them to follow careers in science, engineering or technology.
The National Science Olympiad, now in its 47th year, aims to contribute towards excellence in science among learners and to encourage them to take up careers in science, engineering and technology.
The competition is open to learners in Grades 10 to 12.
