Modeled in terms of the government's "Revolving Door Policy" that was first developed in 2008, the venture will see public servants seconded to higher learning institutions to gain academic experience and enhance their expertise while, on the other hand, academic staff would be seconded to Government to be exposed to the practical side of the environment.
"My office is doing formal consultations for participation in this policy, and we hope that, once approached the University (MEDUNSA) will be on board," the Minister said.
He added that the adoption by Government of the outcomes-based performance approach made the Revolving Door policy one of the best ways of experience-sharing in dealing with identified priorities.
"We have not done much to invite participation of partners in this regard, and we are now making a priority for the implementation of this policy", he said, adding that the graduation ceremony was taking place amid a call for accelerated service delivery.
The Minister said the production of health practitioners remained one of the most important outputs that any institution could deliver, and that health formed part of the Government's five key priorities.
