Tanzanian tobacco farmers can now use an Airtel line to access critical agricultural data and make critical business decisions from their phone devices.
The farmers will from today be able to access real time sales figures, money owed, price of inputs and products per grade via AMIS-Connect, the database of AMIS-Tobacco, a web-based system that securely stores each farmer's statement and account balance.
AMIS-Connect system is being launched as a joint venture between CropsData Limited, an agriculture software services provider, and Airtel Tanzania Limited, Tanzania's most affordable communication provider.
