Okalou MP Erastus Mureithi has urged schools with computers in his constituency to open doors to the members of the public who wish to attain computer literacy.
He said computer knowledge has become so paramount that everyone needs to be given an opportunity to learn to enable the country to grow quickly.
Mureithi said the already established computer training centres need to be boosted by part time lessons from public and private schools. He praised deputy Prime Minister Uhuru Kenyatta for allocating Sh108 million for development of schools in his constituency.
The legislator said many students especially those in day schools have been struggling due to lack of school fees. He said the sh100,000 allocated to the schools in the constituency was too little.
He said the government plans to open an ICT centers in the rural areas to ease congestion of internet distribution in Nairobi.
