Angola registered in about five years an increase from seven to 50 percent in its overall provision of services in the area of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs), revealed Tuesday in Luanda general secretary of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Hamadoun Touré.
According to the Malian national, at the service of the UN body, who was speaking to ANGOP in Luanda airport, at the end of his three-day first working visit to Angola, "despite much progress since 2007, now the important thing is the government to do even more to improve the quality of services".
For secretary-general of ITU, "the advancement from seven to 50 percent is very noticeable in today's world, especially in Africa and other Third World countries".
He pointed out that currently the Ministry of Telecommunications and Information Technology is putting into practice the policy, strategy, means and equipment to achieve these goals.
