The workshop aims to bring together the commissioned authors for the Peace Agreements edited volume. The volume seeks to engage with the experiences of peace agreements in Africa with the aim to understand why some peace agreements fail while others succeed and how this impacts on the attainment of durable peace.
During the workshop the participants will discuss topics on “Peace Agreements in Africa: using Liberia, Cote d'Ivoire, Burundi and Sierra Leone, amongst several others as case study.

Deputy LIPA Chief Off To South Africa The Deputy Director General for Training at the Liberia Institute of Public Administration Richard Panton is expected to participate in a two-day Authors Workshop entitled “Peace Agreements and Durable Peace in Africa” in Durban South Africa from 11-12 April 2011 Mr Panton's participation in the workshop is based on an invitation he received from African Center for the Constructive Resolution of Disputes ACCORD early last month Under the signature of Dr Grace Maina Acting Manager of ACCORD Knowledge Production Department explained that “As a commissioned author to contribute a chapter on Liberia to the Peace Agreements edited volume that ACCORD will publish during the latter part of this year I hereby extend an invitation to you to attend the workshop.”
