The visit aims to increase awareness about the need to include people with disabilities in the country’s efforts to create jobs and the ministers are expected to outline efforts being made towards achieving 2 percent employment equity target for people with disabilities.
Exclusively employing people with various forms of disability on their shop floor, the two factories produce furniture for more than 300 schools and provide linen to two major hospitals in Cape Town - Tygerberg and Groote Schuur.
President Zuma will on Thursday deliver the annual State of the Nation Address to a Joint Sitting of Parliament in the National Assembly. This year’s address will focus largely on economic transformation, while not neglecting important social transformation issues and improving access to basic services.
The address will take place at 7pm to enable all South African citizens a chance to watch it on TV, including workers and students.
