Economic transformation and the delivery of basic services are expected to feature highly in the address, as well as government’s five priorities of health, fighting crime, education, jobs and rural development.
The opening of Parliament is always a glitzy affair, with ministers, diplomats, the business fraternity, political leaders and more dressing up for the occasion.
On Wednesday, Zuma will spend the day resting and putting final touches to his speech.
