The Russian president was officially opening the annual World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland last night. After a delayed arrival, the Russian president still honoured his commitment to officially give an opening address at the Forum.
A moment of silence was observed to honour the victims of the Moscow bomb blast. Perhaps more important was a first public announcement by a BRIC member that South Africa is now a full member which is a confirmation of the country's growing stature in the international community.
Earlier, President Zuma met WEF founder, Klaus Schwab who also expressed hope that many were looking forward to hearing from Africa's biggest economy.
