Brazilian President Luiz Lula da Silva, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Zuma will discuss the aftermath of the international financial crisis, G-20 related matters and climate change.

The three will seek to arrive at a common view on several global issues that will be reflected in a document.

A number of trilateral Memoranda of Understanding in the areas of science and technology, solar energy, intellectual property and cooperation between diplomatic academies will also be signed.

The summit, which is the fourth IBSA, is seen as a trilateral developmental initiative to strengthen cooperation, policy dialogue and coordination among these major emerging countries.

The annual gathering is also of historic significance as all three countries, India, Brazil and South Africa - are soon to host very important sporting events.

South Africa will be hosting the 2010 FIFA World Cup in June, India will stage the Commonwealth Games in October, while Brazil will host the 2014 FIFA soccer World Cup and the 2016 Olympic games. - BuaNews
