The nine cities are Aix-Marseille, Bordeaux, Grenoble, Lille, Lyon, Nantes, Montpellier, Rennes and Toulouse. Another five cities applied but did not qualify for the French Tech label in the first round. They were Brest, Nancy-Metz, Nice-Sophia Antipolis, Rouen, Saint Etienne and Toulon.
