A government task force has unveiled a draft proposal that calls for compiling minutes on cabinet meetings and releasing them after 30 years in principle.
The government plans to submit legislation to the Diet next year to oblige itself to prepare minutes on cabinet and ministerial meetings, informed sources said Wednesday.
The government has been criticized for failing to keep records of meetings that discussed responses to last year's natural and nuclear disasters.
