Turkmen President Makes New Appointments in Judicial System

Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhammadov signed a decree on the appointments in the judicial system, an official Turkmen source said. Under the decree, Nazarseyit Maravaev has been appointed as judge of the country's Arbitration Court. The Arbitration Court of Turkmenistan, under the law, considers and resolves disputes arising from economic legal relationship, considers the bankruptcy case of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs, maintains and analyzes judicial statistics, resolves issues arising from international agreements of Turkmenistan within its competence. Under the presidential decree, new appointments were also made in Ashgabat. Gurbanmyrat Geldiev became a judge of Azatlyk etrap (district) court of the capital; Amantach Gurbanova - Kopetdag etrap court judge; Ogulgovher Gylychlieva - Azatlyk etrap court's Administrative and Executive Proceedings Judge. Appointments were also made in district courts in Akhal and Lebap provinces. Mergen Bayramov and a number of judges in Ashgabat and in the districts of Akhal, Balkan, Lebap regions were dismissed as judges of the Arbitration Court in connection with the expiration of the term of office.
