Baku, Fineko/abc.az. By the end of the year Azerbaijan is planning to enforce the new standards on ICT.
Deputy communication minister Elmir Velizadeh has informed that
currently a special commission of the Ministry of Communications &
Information Technologies is considering the new ICT standards.
"We work constantly in this direction, and four new standards on ICT
will come into force before late 2010,” the deputy minister emphasized.
Today the Technical Committee (TC 05) for Information and
Communication Technologies for Standardization has held a regular
meeting.
During the meeting it was passed four national standards of
information security developed on the basis of international standards
ISO/IEC 27001:2005, ISO/IEC 27005:2008, ISO/IEC 11770-1:1996 and ISO/IEC
TR 18044:2004.
At the meeting Isfendiyar Aliyev, the MCIT Information Society
Department’s head, has said that Ministry noted that work is underway to
determine the level of compliance of Parts 7, 28 and 34 to IT
terminology standard of ISO/IEC 2382.
It was also covered standard of computer keyboard typesetting in
accordance with the Azerbaijani alphabet letters and other matters
relating to TC 05 activities.
