KUWAIT: The second conference of the e-government of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) concluded here yesterday following sessions during which conferees examined advanced e-government applications and electronic activities.
Several work papers were examined during the conference, dealing with risk management of e-government projects, phases of establishing electronic system at public departments, establishing an adequate infrastructure for launching e-services, utilizing technology to minimize effort, cut number of citizens lining up at gates of public departments and hiking productivity. The conference was addressed with plans and reports by representatives of Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Bahrain.
Hanaa Al-Sharrah, the director general of the information center of Kuwait Education Ministry, addressed a work paper during the second session of the final day of the convention, shedding light on the national strategy of electronic education, namely Kuwait e-gateway, e-networks for schools (smart schools), supplying students with laptops, education and training on mastering e-technology. The convention involved heads of e-governments of the GCC states, experts and figures involved in the field. - KUNA
