Firms engaged in the tourism industry, especially tour and travel agencies, should embrace information communication technology to improve service delivery and ease operations, said Juan Torres, the general manager of Amadeus East Africa, a transaction processor for the global travel and tourism industry.

The international firm provides IT solutions to the travel and tourism industry, which help to automate processes such as reservations, inventory management and departure control. Torres, who was speaking at the firm's 10th anniversary celebrations, urged local tour operators to be innovative to stay competitive and relevant to their clients. During the event at Gorilla Hills Hotel in Kigali two lucky guests, Anisha Ingabire and Jean de Dieu Uwamungu, won return air tickets courtesy of RwandAir.
