The social investment and development programme operates on a global scale.
The Everton midfielder can identify with the issues the programme aims to address, having battled poverty during his childhood. He said football was his inspiration and kept him out of trouble.
Pienaar added that it was an honour to be chosen as the ambassador for Football for Hope.
