Oman: Ties Discussed with Saudi IPA Delegation

Shaikh Khalid bin Omar al Marhoon, Civil Service Minister, received here yesterday a delegation from the Institute of Public Administration (IPA) in Saudi Arabia. The delegation comprised Dr Khalid bin Mohammed al Battal, IPA Director for Consultations, Dr Mansoor bin AbdulAziz al Mashooq and Ali bin Saleh al Dhal'aan, Advisors at the Supreme Committee for Administrative Arrangement.

The meeting reviewed aspects of joint co-operation between the two brotherly countries and means of enhancing them, as well as discussing fields of the civil services and administrative development, besides challenges facing the Arab countries in this regard. It also reviewed means of co-operation between the Institute of the Public Administration in the Sultanate and the IPA in the KSA and the best means of activating the existing co-ordination between the two institutes in the fields of training and consultations.

The meeting was attended by officials at the Civil Service Ministry and the Institute of the Public Administration. Meanwhile, a visual presentation was given at the General Diwan of the Ministry for the KSA delegation. The presentation highlighted the prerogatives and tasks of the sector of civil service employees' affairs.

The Directorate-General of Review and Administrative Follow-up, the Directorate-General of Employment and the Directorate-General of Information and Statistics gave briefings on their tasks and prerogatives, including the ministry's experience in the field of employment, human resources system, statistics and applications of the civil service law. The Saudi delegation will visit the Manpower Ministry and the Civil Service Employees Pension Fund (CSEPF).
